21 sailors, civilians hospitalized after explosion on San Diego naval ship

More than a dozen sailors and quite a few civilians have been hospitalized next an explosion on a Navy ship in San Diego on Sunday, officers reported.

A fireplace broke out aboard the USS Bonhomme Richard sometime about 8:30 a.m. nearby time, reported officials with the Naval Surface area Forces. The blaze escalated to a 3-alarm fireplace, in accordance to the San Diego Fireplace-Rescue Office, which assisted in battling the hearth alongside with base and shipboard firefighting teams.
